The 1001-17th Street elevators have been modernized and have many safety features. However, they may malfunction on rare occasions. In this unlikely event, open the door on the left panel that has a phone icon on the handle, and press the silver button above the “Call” sign. This will call the elevator company — there will be a slight delay while the line connects. The elevator company will also notify the Attendant at the building Lobby Desk. In addition, there is a bell that can be heard outside the elevator by pushing the button with the bell icon on it. During normal business hours, an elevator technician usually responds within 30 minutes. After normal business hours, an elevator technician usually responds within one hour.
